Abstract
This study examined how the convergence of innovation, sustainability, and strategic transformation is shaping industrial resilience in emerging economies, using the manufacturing sector as its primary analytical lens. Drawing on the Dynamic Capabilities Framework and the Shared Value Theory, the study employed a qualitative systematic literature review methodology guided by the PRISMA 2020 framework. Fifty-one peer reviewed studies, institutional reports, and policy documents published between 2015 and 2024 were identified and subjected to thematic content analysis. Four dominant themes emerged from the analysis: the transformative role of innovation ecosystems in fostering industrial agility; the strategic repositioning of sustainability from a compliance obligation to a source of competitive advantage; the role of proactive strategic transformation in enabling manufacturers to adapt and sustain value creation amid disruption; and the structural barriers, including infrastructure deficits, institutional fragility, financing constraints, and skills shortages, that continue to limit progress across all three dimensions. The study concluded that industrial resilience in emerging economies is not the product of any single factor but emerges from the deliberate integration of innovation, sustainability, and strategic transformation into a coherent industrial development system. It recommended that governments, manufacturers, and international development partners co-invest in enabling ecosystems that make resilience both attainable and sustainable for the communities that depend on them.
