Introduction
The Journal of People and Worldviews (JPW) is an international, multidisciplinary scholarly platform dedicated to advancing critical inquiry into the diverse ways human beings interpret, shape, and engage their world. Conceived as a cross-cultural intellectual space, the journal brings together contributions from emerging and established scholars across disciplines, providing a forum for both theoretical reflections and practical investigations into social, political, educational, technological, and philosophical issues that define contemporary human experience .
This maiden edition, Volume 1, Number 1 (Part 1), represents a significant intellectual milestone, capturing a wide spectrum of research concerns that reflect the complexity and dynamism of present-day realities. The contributions in this volume cut across key thematic areas such as sustainable development, political structures and governance, gender and identity studies, technological innovation, educational transformation, and psychological well-being. Collectively, these works interrogate pressing global and local challenges, offering insights that are both contextually grounded and universally relevant.
A notable strand within this edition is the exploration of sustainability and development, with studies examining green manufacturing, circular economy models, and the broader implications of industrial practices in Sub-Saharan Africa. Complementing this are analyses of governance and political systems, including discussions on ECOWAS, regional cooperation, leadership deficits, and women’s political participation in African contexts. These contributions highlight the intricate relationship between policy, leadership, and socio-economic progress.
Equally prominent are studies situated at the intersection of culture, identity, and social structures. Articles addressing patriarchal narratives, feminist struggles, and cross-cultural gender dynamics offer critical perspectives on how deeply embedded belief systems continue to shape societal organization and individual experiences. In a similar vein, research on psychological development, emotional well-being, and behavioural patterns provides valuable insights into the human condition within varying social contexts.
The edition also reflects the growing influence of technology in contemporary life. Contributions on artificial intelligence, digital literacy, and AI-assisted learning underscore the transformative role of technological innovations in reshaping education, work environments, and knowledge production. These discussions are particularly relevant in an era where digital systems increasingly mediate human interaction and institutional processes.
Furthermore, the volume engages educational discourse through studies on curriculum development, non-formal education, and specialized learning approaches, especially within technical and vocational domains. These works emphasize the need for adaptive, skill-oriented educational systems that respond effectively to societal and economic demands.
In bringing together these diverse yet interconnected themes, this maiden edition of the Journal of People and Worldviews establishes itself as a robust intellectual platform committed to fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and advancing scholarly contributions that address both enduring philosophical questions and contemporary societal challenges.
